Planning a month’s worth of social media posts can feel daunting, but with a clear strategy, you can create content that keeps your feed blooming all month long. Here’s a step-by-step guide to help florists plan posts that showcase your skills, connect with your audience, and highlight the beauty of your work.

1. Set Your Goals for the Month

Start by deciding what you want to achieve. For instance, do you want to attract wedding clients, highlight seasonal arrangements, or promote your floral workshops? Setting clear goals helps you create focused posts that speak directly to the customers you want to reach.

2. Choose Monthly Themes or Topics

Think about themes that are natural fits for florists. Here are a few ideas:

  • Seasonal Blooms: Highlight what’s in season and the benefits of using seasonal flowers.

  • Flower Care Tips: Share simple advice for keeping flowers fresh longer, which your audience will appreciate and share.

  • Behind-the-Scenes: Show the design process, from selecting blooms to creating arrangements.

  • Local or Sustainable Sourcing: If you focus on eco-friendly practices, share where you source your flowers and how you minimize waste.

3. Map Out Your Weekly Content

Planning specific types of posts for certain days can make it easier to stick to a routine. Here’s a floral-specific example:

  • Monday: “Meet the Flower” – Feature a different flower each week, describing its meaning, care, and arrangement tips.

  • Wednesday: Design Process – Post photos or reels showing the stages of creating an arrangement.

  • Friday: Client Testimonial – Share a story from a recent client or event.

  • Sunday: Floral Inspiration – Share floral trends, ideas for upcoming events, or inspiration from your personal projects.

4. Batch Your Content Creation

Set aside a few hours to create all your content for the month. Spend time taking photos of recent arrangements, writing captions, and creating graphics. If you have special events or upcoming holidays, like Valentine’s Day or Mother’s Day, make sure to highlight your offerings for those occasions. Prepping photos of seasonal flowers or bouquets can make future planning easier.

5. Use a Scheduling Tool

Scheduling tools like Planoly, Later, or Buffer are great for previewing how your feed will look and ensuring your posts are consistent. Aim to schedule at least a week in advance, leaving some flexibility for last-minute updates, like posting a bouquet you made that morning or sharing a community event.

6. Review and Adjust

At the end of each month, check your insights to see which posts resonated most with your audience. Were they drawn to your educational content, behind-the-scenes posts, or event features? Use this information to guide next month’s content and build on what’s working well.

Hopefully by using these this approach you will keep your feed fresh, save time, and help you attract the clients who’ll appreciate your work.
